OUTSIDE THE NEW FOREST?

If you are based outside the New Forest and want to get involved and make a difference?  You are most welcome! There are three main ways below that you can help, or drop us an email and lets talk - info@newforestforukraine.co.uk

SET-UP A COLLECTION POINT

We welcome the opportunity to partner with other locations. If you can collect good quality donations in big enough quantities we are happy to collect them and the sort them in our Lymington hub before delivering directly to support refugees in Poland and Ukraine.

MAKE MEDICAL SUPPLIES

We have a standard set of instructions for making bandages and improvised trauma packs. We are happy to help you get set up with sample packs, initial training and answering your questions.

RAISE SOME FUNDS

Whilst we are all volunteers and keep our costs low, we have an ongoing need of funds to predominantly pay for fuel and other transport costs in getting aid to Poland and Ukraine

SETTING UP A COLLECTION POINT

Collection Point

We welcome the opportunity to partner with other locations. If you can collect good quality donations in big enough quantities we are happy to collect them and the sort them in our Lymington hub before delivering directly to support refugees in Poland and Ukraine. We will be able to provide photographic evidence of the donations arriving with the refugees.

Partner towns are presently running one-off time bound collections (3 - 4 weeks) or on-going collections. We are happy to work with you in setting up your collection system and they can be customised to your local constraints.

Some important considerations:

  • You will need to promote the collections in your local community using word of mouth, posters, local media and social media. We can provide standard templates explaining what is needed.

  • You need at least one drop-off centre for people to deliver donations. This needs to be big enough to hold the donations. If the centre isn’t big enough to hold at least 2 Sprinter vans of donations, you will need another larger location to move and hold the donations before shipping.

  • It is important that you only accept good quality donations inline with what is required. We can provide you this information. It is important that you don’t collect items that are not required as they will cause problems elsewhere in the network.

  • Once you have enough donations, we will work together to move them to our central sorting hub in Lymington. These will need to be full van loads of good quality donations. Ideally you will have local volunteer drivers to bring the donations to Lymington. We do have a number of vehicles and volunteer drivers to help if required.

  • We are happy to work with you on the funding of fuel and van hire, but we do expect drivers to be volunteers and give their time free of charge.
